Hints and Tips for finding the perfect fit bra.

  • Measuring with a tape is not an exact science when it comes to bra fitting but it is a good place to start.  We will talk later about how to tell if you are wearing the right size bra.

  • Quite often swim tops only have one size setting rather than the 3 hook and eye fastening you would normally find on a bra.  This means that the band size is particularly important to get correct for swimwear as there may not be adjustment in the band.

  • Remember, the band provides the essential support, not the straps, so keep the tape measure taut and level.  It should feel snug but not overly tight.

  • Band Size - When measuring for the perfect fit, always round up or down to the next even number.  For example: if your under bust measurement is 34 1/4 inches, round down to band size 34, and for 35 1/4 inches, round up to size 36.

  • Our Calculator will give you an estimated size to try.  We say 'try' this size first because not all bras and brands are made the same.  A perfectly fitting bra is how it feels.  It should provide day-long comfort and confidence, with a stunning silhouette.

How to tell if you are wearing the right size bra:

Back of bra

Your bra or swimwear should fit snugly under your breasts.

You should be able to fit 2 fingers underneath the back band

but no more or it's a sign the band is too big.

The back band should be level and not arching up.

Our Tip: If the band is arching upwards it is probably

too loose - try going down a band size.

Bra Size Calculator - finding the right bra size

The centre of the bra should sit flat on the middle of your chest

inbetween your boobs without any gaping.  Support for the bust

should come from the band and not the straps.

There should be no wrinkling on the cups.

Our Tip: Go down a cup size if this is the case.

Your breasts should not spill over the top or sides of the bra.

Our Tip: If they do, and the band feels OK, try going up one

or two cup sizes until the breasts are fully encapsulated by

the fabric of the bra cups.

Everybody's shape is different so experiment with different bra styles, too

ie. full cup, balcony, side support, plunge, etc.
