    BRA FIT QUESTION:
    Hi Linzi,
I am desperate for some new bras and had to return some recently as they did not fit properly. No problem with the bras – they were really nice.
Have you any suggestions as to which size to try? My underbust measurement is 32″ and 38″ over the cups. I have tried the Fantasie Estelle Side Support and Fantasie Jacqueline Full cup bras. I tried 36E full cups, which were too big. The 36Ds were just baggy on the top part of the cup. I am currently wearing M&S 36E though most of theirs don’t fit. I find with theirs the straps don’t seem long enough, so I’m constantly pulling the wire down. Just looking forward to buying some that fit and are comfortable.
    Any Advice?

      Hi Margaret,

Thanks for getting in touch. From the info you’ve provided it definitely sounds like we need a size change. Your band should be no more than your underbust measurement, so for you we want a 32. The old “add 4” method is no longer necessary.

Looking over what you’ve said I would start out with a 32F/FF. Don’t be alarmed by the cup size it is all relative to the band and by dropping this we will be bringing the bra closer to the body which will prevent gaping.

I hope this makes sense! Feel free to contact me for more help if needed 🙂

        Hi Linzi,

I re-ordered recently and taking your advice had the best fits so far. However although I loved the bras, they were still not quite right. I ordered 32 F and the cups were perfect. However the band was a bit tight so the underwire at the front would have been uncomfortable, though this left no gaps.

I don’t want to just reorder a higher band – say 34 in case the cups don’t then fit! With your help I will get there!
        Thanks
        Margaret

          Hello again Margaret,

Sorry you are still having trouble getting the perfect fit. Based on our previous chat plus this new info I would try both a 32FF, this will free up band space as sometimes it feels tight because the band & cups are battling each other, and a 34E which will take the band up but keep cup volume the same.

          Hope this helps 🙂

    BRA FIT QUESTION:
I was hoping you could give me some advice on which brand of bra would be best. I need a longer back strap as have a wider rib cage and find a lot of them quite small in the back. When I go up a band size, the cups are then too wide. Hope this makes sense. I have been wearing Fantasie moulded balcony bras for years but would like a change if possible. Many thanks for your help.

Thanks for reply. I spent ages trying bras on in town yesterday with no success. So thought I’d try here.
Linzi suggested on her Facebook page I try 32gg My under bust measurement is actually 30” and across them is 36”
The shops only went to a g cup. The 32” fitted well across my back and the wires fitted well on some. But one cup is too small. I’m not sure 30” would fit as some 32” were tight.
I am short so have the problem of the material cutting in under my armpits.
I like minimiser styles. I like my shock absorber bras. They are so comfortable, but really unflattering.
Any suggestions of styles and sizes to go for from Lazame page would be gratefully received. Thanks.

      Hi Samantha,

I would recommend trying a “bandless” bra based on this. Have a look at the Tia bra by Elomi, typically designed for a shorter torso it helps to eliminate that underarm problem.

Also I know you say some 32s felt tight but this could be a style issue and I would try 30H and 32H along with it to get the best fit.

      Hope this helps
      🙂

Ok thanks for that. Is that one quite supportive? I will also try one of the sports bras.

They don’t come in 30” so I’ve ordered some to try in 32” thanks.

Hello The bras came today. The 32gg sports one fits ok…there is a bit of space above the breast. But the bra isn’t gaping. The other style came in 32h (32gg coming soon) the wire part feels comfortable, but it really gapes at the sides. Any suggestions next please? Shall I just wait for the 32gg to come and see what it fits like. I might keep the sports one, though I am not 100% happy with the fit. Thanks.

Having tried on again I’ve decided the sports one just isn’t right either. So I’m sending all back. I’d really like to try another sports one. But no idea what size to get next. The cup is just big all round. There’s no way to add pic or I would. Thanks.

            Hi Samantha,

Hmmm it’s a bit tricky to identify the issues without seeing the styles on at this point.
            Just to run through the more obvious steps;
            – have you scooped all the breast tissue into place?
            – Shoulder straps adjusted?

If you feel the Elomi sports bra isn’t right then I recommend the Panache bra but this does come up a little higher in the underarm.

Let me know how the alternative size goes. X
