In the next few days we will be receiving the beautiful Spring/Summer 2010 Collection from UK Designer Karmin Kenny at East-Village. The gorgeous cotton dresses and tops feature Indonesian embroidery with cutwork.

CHOCOLATE WEEK: 12th - 18th October 2009:

In celebration of Chocolate Week, we bring you our favourite LazyChocolate Pudding Recipe - enjoy!

Recipe Ingredients:

Pudding
170g caster sugar
170g margarine
3 eggs
130g self-raising flour
3 tablespoons cocoa
pinch salt
a few drops of vanilla essence
2 tablespoons milk
Sauce
45g cocoa
170g soft brown sugar
3/4 pt (425ml) hot water

Method:
To make the pudding, cream together the caster sugar and margarine until light and creamy. Beat the eggs and add to the mixture a little at a time. Add the flour, cocoa, salt, vanilla essence and milk to the pudding mixture. Mix together thoroughly. Put mixture into a fairly deep oven-proof basin. Now make the sauce in a separate bowl by mixing together the cocoa and brown sugar. Pour the hot water into the cocoa and brown sugar and mix together. Then, slowly pour the sauce onto the pudding mixture. Bake in an oven at 190 degrees C for approx 40 minutes or until the sponge pudding is cooked. The magic of this pudding is that the sauce will have disappeared from the top to the bottom of the dish giving a gorgeous gooey chocolate base.

1st August 2009 STOCK UPDATE: Ladies Silk Nightwear

Silk Kimono with Obi by East-Village

We are running low on stock of the Silk Kimono with embroidered Obi Belt but we are pleased to say that more stocks will be in store again at the end of September. Available in sizes 6-16 these kimonos are handmade and take time to re-stock so please let us know if you would like us to reserve you one by emailing us with your size and the product name to customerservices@lazeme.co.uk.

New for May 2009 - Summer Collection from East Village:

We are delighted to be able to offer our customers a beautiful range of silk loungewear and daywear from designer Karmin Kenny at East Village.

East Village draws on the beauty of Eastern embellishments and textiles. Deliciously-soft silk dresses, tops and kimonos are adorned with hand-embroidered flowers, birds and butterflies.

Each East Village piece is special and made to cherish for years to come.

These exquisite dresses and tops are made from 100% silk and everything is made in small batches using cottage industries and traditional methods (no mass production). The silk is harvested from silk worms before being spun and woven on looms in a small village in rural Vietnam. After the silk has been woven it is hand-dyed and hung out to dry in the sun. It then goes by motorbike to a small workshop where the pieces are cut and to another small village where the pieces are hand-embroidered (often at the artisan’s home). They stitch every piece by hand in the traditional way. The women regularly come together in a group to chat as they work.

Most of the silk pieces are perfect for loungewear, dressing up with heels for an evening out or taking on holiday.
